Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation | First Impression

FItMe

If you’ve watched my recent drugstore beauty haul video, you know that I purchased two new foundations. I wanted to try these out for you separately and then compare them to eachother. I know that with drugstore foundations it can be difficult to decide what is best for your skin. Especially since you can’t really get a sample to try before actually buying the product. I decided to start with the Matte & Poreless version of the Maybelline Fit Me foundation since it was the newest out of the two.

Price: $5-$10 (Depending on where you buy it)

Where Can I Purchase? Most Drugstores – Rite Aid, Walmart, CVS, Target, Ulta.com, Drugstore.com

Maybelline Claims: “Fit Me!® Matte + Poreless from Maybelline New York goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural skin fit. While some foundations can exaggerate pores and oily skin, only our pore-minimizing foundation contains our genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish.” –Maybelline.com

Packaging: Honestly, The bottle is cute. It’s a small glass bottle. My only downfall about this is that it doesn’t have a pump, and this is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to foundation bottles.

Consistency: At first when I poured it onto my hand it felt a little thick, once I applied it to my face with a damp beauty blender it went on extremely smooth and blended out easily. I would definitely recommend using a damp beauty blender since the dampness of the sponge helps sheer out the foundation just enough to not look cakey.

Finish: This foundation is definitely a Matte finish. Even though it is a Matte foundation, I still like to set it just to make sure it stays in place.

Overall: When I first applied this foundation I loved the way it looked on my skin, especially on camera. It looked flawless and it matched my skin perfect. As the day continued, I felt the foundation to be a little thick and it didn’t look as flawless. It wasn’t anything amazing but it’s a nice foundation just to have, especially considering how inexpensive it is. If you’re looking for an inexpensive Matte foundation this a great choice, especially if you don’t plan on wearing it all day long. I have combination skin and I felt like it would stick to my dry patches but if you have really oily skin I definitely think you will love this.

Eyebrow Perfection ♥ Benefit Gimme Brow

We all know without perfect eyebrows, your entire makeup for the day can look a little off. Eyebrows help frame your face and usually they bring your whole makeup look together. I never filled in my eyebrows when I was younger and although it didn’t look terrible, it also didn’t look as crisp and clean as my face does now.

Recently, I have been using the exact same routine for doing my eyebrows. I love the way this routine leaves them and I am not complaining or looking to change it up anytime soon. I have a video showing you guys my full eyebrow routine, so check it out if you want to see what I do! The only thing I did not include in that video was my newest favorite little gem.

The Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel. It’s perfection in a tube. I received this about a week ago from Benefit after winning a contest they were holding with Birchbox. I usually use my Sonia Kashuk clear brow gel and thought that was great, but once I tried this Benefit Eyebrow Gel for the first time, I instantly fell in love.

Price: $22.00

Where Can I Purchase? Benefitcosmetics.com, Ulta, Sephora, Anywhere that sells Benefit Cosmetics.

Benefit Claims: “Bring on the brows! This innovative brush-on fiber gel adheres to skin & hair…creating brows where before there were none. It builds easily for thick, lush arches, thanks to a tapered brush for blending & precision tip for shaping. Available in two shades. Innovative Brush-On Fiber Gel is water resistant, long-wearing, natural-looking, buildable.” –Benefitcosmetics.com

Why I Love It: Since growing out my eyebrows and trying to reshape them, the struggle has been real. They have been a little sparse and a little wild at the same time. This product has definitely helped fill in those extra little spaces that my brow powder and brow pomade can’t seem to get. It also makes my brows look fuller and they stay in place all day long! I seriously cannot rave about this product enough.

I used to hear amazing reviews but never tried it because I thought it would make my brows look super dark (since they are already basically black) but the color of this product seriously matches with anyone’s eyebrows. It comes in two different shades but I promise one of those will work for you, whether you have super light hair or super dark hair.

First Impression: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation ♥

IMG_2665

Foundations are probably my favorite beauty product to try out besides lipsticks. I’m always on the look out for that holy grail product. I work most of the day and it’s usually for about 8 hours, so I’m always looking for a foundation that will last me the whole entire day without it sliding off my face or looking spotty.

So far this foundation has become one of my favorites! I heard about it through a few youtubers and have been dying to try so I finally picked it up while at my mall. Seriously this product does not disappoint.

Watch my Youtube video below if you want to see how it applies or read on for more info on this amazing foundation!

Price: $37.00

Where Can You Purchase? Esteelauder.com, Sephora, Any Estee Lauder Counters.

Estee Lauder Claims: “15-hour staying power. Flawless all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity. Won’t change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.” – Esteelauder.com

Packaging: Although it comes in a very nice glass bottle, sort of like the Chanel foundation I love, this one unfortunately does not come with a pump. You have to pour the foundation which stinks because a lot of times you end up pouring too much and waste product.

Consistency: This foundation is definitely thicker than most. It’s a medium coverage foundation but can be built to full coverage. My favorite way of applying it is with a beauty blender because it sheers it out a little and prevents it from looking too cakey.

Finish: This is for sure a matte foundation. For the most part, I’ve been trying not to use matte foundations since my skin has been super dry but this one for some reason just looks so amazing on the skin! It gives you even coverage and a little definitely goes a long way. I’ve never seen my face this perfect with any other foundation.

Overall: Overall I recommend this foundation if you are looking for an all day wear foundation. This does not budge at all. Estee Lauder claims that it lasts 15 hours and I definitely think it would last that long. I personally, don’t wear makeup that long but for the 8 hours that I wore mine, it lasted the whole time without moving at all. If you have dry skin I would try getting a sample first because this can cling to dry patches if not applied properly. Like mentioned before, I definitely think using a beauty blender helps sheer it out and give it a little moisture.

The color selection can also be a little tricky, although there is a large color selection, it took me a while to get matched to my perfect color and even then I still think I ended up buying the wrong color.

Too Faced Melted Longwear Lipstick | Review ♥

Lipsticks…Again. Like I’ve mentioned a thousand times before, I am a lipstick hoarder. I’ve completely come to terms with it and I just can’t help it. To feed my fun little addiction I decided to try these new Too Faced Melted Lipsticks out! I’ve had some of them for a while but I wanted to really make sure I used them enough to give a good review.

So far I’ve collected six out of the ten lipsticks. I have the colors Melted Nude, Melted Coral, Melted Peony, Melted Fig, Melted Fuchsia, and Melted Berry. The Melted Peony is a little baby version because it was given to me as a gift for purchasing a certain amount of Too Faced cosmetics at Ulta.

Melted Lippies

Price: $21.00

Where Can You Purchase? Ulta, Sephora, Too Faced.com

Too Faced Claims: “Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.” – TooFaced.com

Packaging: I’m not really a huge fan of lipsticks in little squeeze tubes. It reminds me of those oily lip glosses from lip smackers that I would use when I was like five. As an adult I think I have the capability of using a wand and applying it on my own. I get that it’s meant to save time but I feel like you don’t have control over how much product you’re applying or squeezing out for that matter. Besides the squeeze tube part,  I do like their precision tip applicator at the end of the squeeze tube. It sort of feels like the higher end lip gloss tips and I like that it’s soft and applies the lipstick perfect without having to use a lip liner.

Consistency: This product is meant to be creamy and it is. The whole concept is that it’s a melted lipstick, which is really what it looks like.

Application: It’s super easy to apply, no lip liner needed. The darker colors do feather so you may want to use lip liner just for that purpose but it’s not necessary for staying within the lip line.

Finish/Lasting Power: The overall finish is a shiny matte if that makes any sense. It does have a tiny bit of a sheen to it but Too Faced claims to have high shine gloss which I wouldn’t agree with. When I think of high shine gloss I think of extremely glossy lips and that’s not what I get out of these, which for me is perfectly fine. As for the lasting power, they definitely do last a long time. Too Faced doesn’t specify how long they can last but I’ve gotten a good 4-5 hours out of them. I do believe the lighter colors last more than the darker ones, but the darker ones end up turning into more of a stain.

Overall Thoughts: Overall, these are some of my go-to products for on the go. It’s so easy to apply and touch up. They can be drying especially on my lips since I already have over dried lips. If you apply Chapstick beforehand you should be perfectly fine! I recommend these, especially the fun colors!
