For my wedding series I decided to film what I did to ask my girls if they would like to be a part of my wedding. I made DIY Boxes full of goodies for each one of my bridesmaids. They all loved it and said yes! If you are planning your wedding, let me know what you did to ask your bridesmaids to be a part of your wedding. I hope this video was fun and helpful as well.

I recently purchased a few Colourpop cosmetics eyeshadows and I was also able to get my hands on one of the new M.A.C Liquid Lipsticks in the color High Drama. I wanted to use the KathleenLights x Colourpop Cosmetics eyeshadows that my friend just purchased. They looked so beautiful I just had to borrow them to film a video haha. I decided instead of doing a tutorial, I wanted to switch it up a little and just do a get ready with me. Let me know if you like these types of videos or if you prefer the good ‘ol tutorial instead.

Recently a co-worker of mine kept mentioning that she wanted to find a good full coverage foundation that would last her all day while at work. I had always heard good things about Kat Von D’s beauty line and so many people have raved about her foundation. I personally never tried it because I was too afraid that it would be too full coverage for me. When I recommended this foundation to my co-worker and chose the color for her, she came in the next day with it on and her face looked amazing. It didn’t look too cakey or powdery, the color matched perfect, everything just looked flawless on her!
After seeing how amazing the foundation looked on her, I had to try it myself. Watch my First Impression video below to see how it applied and what it looked like before and after the application.
Price: $35
Where Can I Purchase? Katvondbeauty.com, Sephora.com (& store locations)
Kat Von D Claims: “One little pump is all it takes to even out discoloration, stop shine and hide blemishes! The coverage is AMAZING, whether you apply with a brush or a sponge. And it’s so long-wear, we can go a full 24 hours without touching up or re-applying (Kat herself has put this to the test)…Formulated with 21% pigment, our powerful potion is loaded with proprietary pigments plus an exclusive blend of siliconic elastomers and siliconic esters which bind the formula, so your foundation stays fade-free and transfer- proof…The bottle features an innovative airless chamber design that prevents contamination and maintains Lock-It’s rich consistency. That means you get a fresh, precisely measured dose with every pump!” -Katvondbeauty.com
Packaging: To be honest, when I first saw the packaging on this foundation I wasn’t impressed. I am not a huge tattoo person so the packaging to me was neither here nor there. After I purchased the foundation I realized how useful the packaging really is! According to the website, the design prevents contamination and maintains the foundation’s consistency. Also, when you pump (which of course is a plus too) it is supposed to dispense the perfect amount of foundation needed to complete a full coverage application.
Consistency: This foundation has a creamy feel to it. It is definitely a bit on the heavier side of consistencies compared to most of my other foundations. I did notice that when applied it blended out easily but also dried quickly so it is a product that you have to work fast with. I also thought that using a beauty blender or a damp sponge helped with the thickness of the foundation when it came to blending and dispersing it throughout the face.
Finish: The finish of this foundation was matte. I still set it with a tiny bit of powder just because that’s what I always do with all my foundations but I did notice it looked a little heavy afterwards, so I used a setting spray to sort of help the product settle into my face and not look so matte/powdery.
Overall: I loved that this foundation does exactly what is says it does. It is full coverage and when I say full coverage, I mean it. It covers literally everything. It also lasts extremely long. Hours later, it looks like you just applied your makeup, which is amazing. I do think that the foundation itself felt heavy on my skin at first but throughout time I think the natural oils in my skin helped with breaking down the thickness of the foundation. I believe this is one of those foundations that actually look better with time as it settles perfectly into the skin. I would say if you have dry skin, you probably will not like this foundation because it is super matte. Also, if you are someone who isn’t used to full coverage foundations, this may not be for you either. I recommend this for anyone who is taking photos, video, loves their full on everyday glam or wants their foundation to last them all day. I also think the price is perfect for what you are getting. It is right in the middle of the foundation spectrum, not too expensive but not super affordable either.
