California OOTD – Day 2 ♥

I know that it’s been almost two weeks since my California trip, so you guys are probably not interested in hearing about what I did anymore but I miss it so much that I figured I might as well finish off my OOTD posts from this trip. I’m so sorry to drag it out this long but I promise there are only two more days left of OOTD’s from this trip!

For the second day in California we decided to explore the beaches! One thing that we said before coming here was that if we ever decided to move to California, it would be near a beach. I mean let’s be real, A) who wouldn’t want to live by the beach and B) why move from NY to CA just to live in a crowded city, again? (not that I live in NYC where it’s super crowded or anything, but the suburbs still isn’t as great as the beach)

The first beach we stopped at was in Malibu, CA. It was called El Matador Beach and was rated the #1 tourist attraction in Malibu on Trip Advisor. You guys, when I tell you the scenery was straight out of a television/movie screen I am not lying. It was so beautiful, words cannot even describe it. The pictures don’t even do it justice! We actually ran into a few people that were shooting a music video and the director took a photo of us. That was a pretty cool experience.

I originally had white shorts on, a Navy tank top and my kimono overtop but the weather was a little too chilly so I changed into this outfit in the car. I just kept my kimono on because I loved it so much. I thought this was the perfect beach outfit and I felt so great in it while in on the beach.

The beach means so much to me. It’s my peace. My serenity. I go to the beach as much as possible in the summer because it’s the one thing that can make all worries and problems go away. Just sitting there with the sand in between my toes, staring out into the sea is an unexplainable feeling for me. Whenever I stare out into the sea, all I can think of is all the possibilities in life. Once upon a time, people believed that the world was flat and that the ocean stopped at some point, but they were wrong. The ocean continues just like life continues. You can go through tough times but life will continue and you have to see the beauty in it, just like the ocean.

Anyway, Sorry. I get so emotional when I think of the beach. It just seriously is my safe haven. I feel 100% comfortable, calm, relaxed, and at peace when I’m at the beach. (except when there are Seagulls trying to befriend me, I am terrified of birds. Don’t judge me!)

After we took in the beautiful scenery in Malibu, we got a little hungry. We decided to stop at a little bar and grill called Barefoot. Such beautiful scenery. We were sitting next to a window and when you looked out it seemed as if we were surrounded by the ocean! I even got to see dolphins jumping around. We both ended up having taco’s, I had chicken and he had fish. So delicious, I deff.  recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the Malibu area.

After our delicious healthy snack, we decided to head to our second beach location. I ended up buying a hoodie there because the wind was a little crazy and it was making things a little chilly.

The second beach we went to was the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, CA. We walked the boardwalk and just took it all in. After the boardwalk we went down to the beach area and just pretty much people watched. People watching can be a little creepy, I know, but it’s so fun at the same time. Have you ever just sat there for a second and thought to yourself, what could these people be going through? I mean think about it. Everyone around you has their own life, their own problems, and their own triumphs. You’re just one person in a world of a billion or more people. It’s pretty crazy to think about.

After people watching, we decided to have some fun and play on the swings. The cool thing about the Santa Monica Pier is that it had an area where people went to exercise. We literally saw people doing yoga, pull ups, push ups, running, roller skating, biking, any type of exercise. You name it, they were doing it.

After our beach expeditions we decided to head back to Long Beach and grab some In N Out Burger. You guys, when I tell you we were obsessed with this place, you have no idea. I think I miss that the most out of California! (besides the weather, people, scenery, and the state itself haha)

Lips of The Moment – Glam it up ♥

Red lipstick to me is like your go-to classy lipstick, it goes with any skin color and any occasion. I’m pretty much a lipstick hoarder, so I can tell you right now that I have several shades of the same color in different lipsticks, but this one has become one of my go-to favorite red lipsticks. I’m not a huge fan of Rihanna but I can’t lie, her partnership with M.A.C cosmetics has just been amazing. From the packaging to the actual product itself, they’re definitely must try products.

This particular one is the Viva Glam Rihanna lipstick by M.A.C cosmetics. It is a Blue Red lipstick with a bit of frost in it, but once applied to the lips you can’t really see the frost too much.  The great thing about this lipstick besides the amazing packaging (which I will get into in just a bit) is that every cent from your purchase goes towards women, men, and children living with or affected by AIDS/HIV. Being that I lost a family member from this disease it means so much more to me that I can help out by buying something that I am passionate about as well.

The packaging is beautiful. It is a red velvety, smooth, soft touch packaging and it contains Rihanna’s actual signature on the inside of the tube. This is a lipstick that I would for sure want to display on my vanity. It is a limited-edition lipstick so if you are interested I would suggest going out and buying it sooner than later!

When applying red lipsticks, you always want to use a lip liner. This goes for dark lipsticks in general. My lips especially, tend to bleed a lot when applying dark lipsticks so lining them helps defeat that. With this lipstick I use my Sonia Kashuk Lip Liner. It is the perfect combination!

What is your lip of the moment and what lip products are you wanting to try?

Mini Haul – Ulta, Sephora, CVS ♥

Hey Guys!

The other day I got an email with a 20% off coupon for Ulta. The best part wasn’t that it was a 20% off coupon but it was one of the coupons that I was able to use on anything including the higher brands aka Urban Decay. Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands of all time, I mean I love many different brands but for some reason whenever I go to Ulta I end up in that section and alwaysss end up buying something. Well, this time around was no different. I picked up a few fun new Urban Decay products and a few other goodies as well.

Like usual, I wanted to share this with you so you guys can see what new products I’ve been buying and testing out. I was going to film this but literally could not find the time and the bag full of goodies was just sitting there waiting to be used. I did use some of the products already because I just could not contain myself but, I’m sure that doesn’t make a difference to you guys!

Either way, I hope you guys enjoy this post. Let me know which of these products you want reviews for and if you’d like me to do videos for hauls as well as blog posts!

(From left to right)

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade – I’ve been trying to perfect my eyebrows so I decided to pick this up and I’ve been already obsessed with it as we speak! I talk about it a little in my January 2014 Beauty Favorites Video ! I picked this up in the color chocolate.

2. Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss – This was something that wasn’t planned but I passed by it and just had to try! I’ve tried it and i’m still iffy on whether I like it or not so stay tuned for a review. I purchased this lip gloss in the color Walk of Shame.

3. NYX Butter Lipstick – I have two of these lipsticks in my collection already but I knew I wanted to purchase more. I don’t like to spend too much at the same time when I shop for makeup so I try to get one color each time. This time I decided to go with a Nude. I actually tried this one as well already and so far I’m on the fence about the color. We shall see how I feel later on as I continue to use it…

4. Wet ‘N Wild Mega Liner Liquid Eyeliner – This was another impulse purchase. Not necessary at all, whatsoever. As I walked down the aisle the bright blue just caught my attention. I plan on doing a tutorial with it eventually, I’m just not sure exactly what i want to do yet. I purchased this in the color Indigo Blue. Stay tuned for this product as well…

5. Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Loose Finishing Powder – Well  that was a mouthful to say (or type in this case) . Besides the super long name, this product is something I like to call magical. Literally the second I saw it, I had to have it. I’ve only tried it over Foundation so I’m not quite sure how it would work by itself, but so far I am in love. Bye, Bye Bare Minerals Matte Foundation! You will deff. See a Review on this soon so stay tuned!

6. L’Oreal Magic Lumi Concealer/Highlighter – This was another impulse buy. I’ve been looking for a good highlighter/concealer combo that I can use before concealer so I decided to give this a try. Honestly, I tried this a few times so far and I’m not a fan. It’s gotten comfortable in my concealer drawer and I don’t think it will be coming out of hibernation for a while. Boo for bad buys!

7. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz – I Needed This. End Of Story! I’ve purchased this before and ran out of it. I literally could not go one day without it and this is what actually brought me to Ulta in the first place. If you haven’t tried this product, Stop what you’re doing. Get in your car, and go buy it. Now. It’s literally amazing-ness in a stick! By the way, I purchased this in the color Brunette.

8. Macadamia Deep Repair Masque – Everytime I decide to purchase the actual regular size of this, it’s always sold out. Therefore, I end up settling for this little packet. Basically, If you haven’t tried this and you have hair that needs some repairing, you should probably go out and get this little sample packet. It’s so amazing. I will do a review on this as well at some point 🙂 Stay tuned!

10. Living Proof Samples! – I actually haven’t opened this little packet up so I’m not quite sure what is in it.

That’s everything that I purchased on my last few trips to the store! I hope you guys enjoyed this and if you’ve bought any new products let me know below, I always love to see what everyone else is buying and loving!
