Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Foundation | First Impression

FItMe

If you’ve watched my recent drugstore beauty haul video, you know that I purchased two new foundations. I wanted to try these out for you separately and then compare them to eachother. I know that with drugstore foundations it can be difficult to decide what is best for your skin. Especially since you can’t really get a sample to try before actually buying the product. I decided to start with the Matte & Poreless version of the Maybelline Fit Me foundation since it was the newest out of the two.

Price: $5-$10 (Depending on where you buy it)

Where Can I Purchase? Most Drugstores – Rite Aid, Walmart, CVS, Target, Ulta.com, Drugstore.com

Maybelline Claims: “Fit Me!® Matte + Poreless from Maybelline New York goes beyond skin tone matching to fit the unique texture issues of normal to oily skin for the ultimate natural skin fit. While some foundations can exaggerate pores and oily skin, only our pore-minimizing foundation contains our genius blurring micro-powders that erase pores and absorb oil for a naturally matte and poreless-looking finish.” –Maybelline.com

Packaging: Honestly, The bottle is cute. It’s a small glass bottle. My only downfall about this is that it doesn’t have a pump, and this is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to foundation bottles.

Consistency: At first when I poured it onto my hand it felt a little thick, once I applied it to my face with a damp beauty blender it went on extremely smooth and blended out easily. I would definitely recommend using a damp beauty blender since the dampness of the sponge helps sheer out the foundation just enough to not look cakey.

Finish: This foundation is definitely a Matte finish. Even though it is a Matte foundation, I still like to set it just to make sure it stays in place.

Overall: When I first applied this foundation I loved the way it looked on my skin, especially on camera. It looked flawless and it matched my skin perfect. As the day continued, I felt the foundation to be a little thick and it didn’t look as flawless. It wasn’t anything amazing but it’s a nice foundation just to have, especially considering how inexpensive it is. If you’re looking for an inexpensive Matte foundation this a great choice, especially if you don’t plan on wearing it all day long. I have combination skin and I felt like it would stick to my dry patches but if you have really oily skin I definitely think you will love this.

First Impression: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation ♥

IMG_2665

Foundations are probably my favorite beauty product to try out besides lipsticks. I’m always on the look out for that holy grail product. I work most of the day and it’s usually for about 8 hours, so I’m always looking for a foundation that will last me the whole entire day without it sliding off my face or looking spotty.

So far this foundation has become one of my favorites! I heard about it through a few youtubers and have been dying to try so I finally picked it up while at my mall. Seriously this product does not disappoint.

Watch my Youtube video below if you want to see how it applies or read on for more info on this amazing foundation!

Price: $37.00

Where Can You Purchase? Esteelauder.com, Sephora, Any Estee Lauder Counters.

Estee Lauder Claims: “15-hour staying power. Flawless all day. This worry-free, long-wearing makeup stays fresh and looks natural through heat, humidity, nonstop activity. Won’t change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable. Now the flawless look you see in the morning is the look you keep all day.” – Esteelauder.com

Packaging: Although it comes in a very nice glass bottle, sort of like the Chanel foundation I love, this one unfortunately does not come with a pump. You have to pour the foundation which stinks because a lot of times you end up pouring too much and waste product.

Consistency: This foundation is definitely thicker than most. It’s a medium coverage foundation but can be built to full coverage. My favorite way of applying it is with a beauty blender because it sheers it out a little and prevents it from looking too cakey.

Finish: This is for sure a matte foundation. For the most part, I’ve been trying not to use matte foundations since my skin has been super dry but this one for some reason just looks so amazing on the skin! It gives you even coverage and a little definitely goes a long way. I’ve never seen my face this perfect with any other foundation.

Overall: Overall I recommend this foundation if you are looking for an all day wear foundation. This does not budge at all. Estee Lauder claims that it lasts 15 hours and I definitely think it would last that long. I personally, don’t wear makeup that long but for the 8 hours that I wore mine, it lasted the whole time without moving at all. If you have dry skin I would try getting a sample first because this can cling to dry patches if not applied properly. Like mentioned before, I definitely think using a beauty blender helps sheer it out and give it a little moisture.

The color selection can also be a little tricky, although there is a large color selection, it took me a while to get matched to my perfect color and even then I still think I ended up buying the wrong color.
