Don’t Quit Your Daydream ♥

Hey loves,

The beginning of every year is always fascinating to me because everyone, including myself, seems to have this idea of freshness and new beginnings. It is understandable. I mean technically it is a “new year”, the calendar says so. In reality it is just another day, just like every other day…

Sorry to be the debbie downer but it’s true. I started off the year like everyone else, making all of these goals and plans for this year until I realized, why am I making goals for just this year? January 1st shouldn’t be the day I decide to make a difference in my life, everyday should be that day.

I can honestly say that I am an extremely determined and self motivated person. Once I have a goal or a plan set in motion I do not give up until I accomplish it. This can be a very good thing but can also be one of my greatest downfalls. I seem to put more pressure on myself than I really should, especially because the thought of disappointing those who believe in me or the thought of failing is something that I very much fear.

The past week for me hasn’t been my best and I’m sure you all have bad days or bad weeks as well, but something you should know is that it really does get better. I literally say this to myself every single day. Staying positive is the key to making things happen and if you hit a roadblock you have to learn to be okay with it and find another path that’ll get you to your goal. It is easier said than done, but practice also makes perfect.

Here are a few little pieces of inspiration from Tumblr that keep me going:

If you’re reading this, I hope that your day is a little better than it was before & remember that you determine your happiness. No one else has that right. Stay positive and be your own cheerleader! I believe in you ♥

Mini Haul♥ – Ulta

Hey Loves!

Yesterday I made a little quick trip to Ulta since I needed to pick up a few things for my NYE makeup tutorial! (Should be up tomorrow night the latest!) Since I had gotten a few gift cards for Christmas, I decided to splurge on a few things that I’ve been eyeing for a while !

We all know that one of my favorite “high end” makeup brands is Urban Decay so I had to take advantage and pick up a few things from them! (Aside from the fact that I was also gifted the Naked 3 palette :)) Yay!

here is a list of what I bought on my mini shopping trip:20131229-231440.jpg

1. L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara – literally I’ve tried a bajillion mascara’s and yet every time I try a new one my heart beats for this one a little stronger so I had to pick it up because I’ve missed and love it that much!

2. Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder – This is a newbie for me. I’m running low on my Bare Minerals Matte Foundation and wanted to step away from my comfort zone and try something new. I have high hopes for this so fingers crossed!

3. NYX – I picked up a few things from NYX and I’m not going to lie, I wanted a lot more! (I had to stop myself) The first thing I picked up was this Liquid Crystal Liner. It’s Sparkly and perfect for my NYE tutorial!

As I was walking down the aisle  I noticed the Butter Lipsticks were finally in stores and you know I HAD to pick some up! anyone who’s a fan of the butter glosses MUST try the lipsticks! I picked up two : Fireball and Razzle Fiesta. Cannot wait to try these out!

4. Too Faced– I’ve been dying to try the glitter glue because well lets face it, what girly girl doesn’t love glitter? …and i needed it for my NYE tutorial hehe. I have extremely high hopes for this as well so fingers crossed for this too!

5. Urban Decay– Last but not least my UD products! I tend to wear a lot of bright and bold lipsticks but for some reason they always end up feathering out. I’m not sure if it’s because my lips are always super dry or if the lipsticks are drying out my lips which causes them to feather? anywayyyy, I ended up getting the UD Lip Pencil in the color Ozone. It’s a clear lip pencil so you can wear it with any lipstick you please and its supposed to stop the feathering or you can use it as a primer to make your lipstick last longer!

I also picked up one of the UD lipsticks! I’ve been dying to try these because I’ve heard so many amazing reviews! I wasn’t sure what color to choose from so I settled for a nude and got the color Naked. I hope I love it!

It’s so exciting when I get completely new makeup! Can’t wait to try these out so I can write reviews on them 🙂 What makeup products have you guys picked up lately?

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated : Review ♥

Hey Loves!

Just like contouring, highlighting should be a very important step in your makeup routine, especially in the winter when your skin tends to look a little dull or even dry. I have been playing around with a few highlighters and some of them were too shimmery or had large chunks of sparkle and did not look flattering on the skin at all! I also noticed that because I have a darker skin tone it was difficult for me to find a highlighter that wouldn’t look “white” or “frosty”. Lucky for me, I was searching black Friday deals and came across this Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Powder! It looked gorgeous, so you know I had to do my research. I googled the product and saw a few reviews and it just made my decision even easier! It was a must have! Once I bought it I just could not put it down and I’ve been using it ever since!

It comes in a cute little rose gold-ish box, which I do think is a little bulky for absolutely no reason. (Boo to the bulky packaging UD!) There’s also a decent sized mirror for people who are using this on the go and it also has a small compartment underneath the powder that holds a cute brush. I’m not a huge fan of the brush for this specific product, but I may use it for something else in the future (I like the brush itself just not for this).

Price: $29.00 USD

Promise: “Get Naked from head to toe. This smooth, silky powder contains a sophisticated, microfine shimmer and light-reflecting particles that give skin a luminous, radiant look. You really have to see it to appreciate how insanely beautiful it is! This lightweight, shimmering powder is baked on a terra cotta disc for 24 hours and then hand-finished, just like our popular Baked Bronzer. Baking the formula gives Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder a high level of just-perfect shimmer (without the metallic look of cheaper formulas). It also provides the color payoff of a loose powder, with the convenience of a pressed powder.” – Urbandecay.com

Overall Thoughts: Honestly, I’m completely obsessed with this highlighter. Not only can you use it for your face but you can also use it on your body to give it a nice natural glow! I would deff 100% recommend this to anyone. It is beautiful, you won’t even believe it until you see it in person!
