California OOTD – Day 3 ♥

The third day in California was one of my favorite days, ever. We got to go to one of the happiest places on earth. Most people get to experience this place when they are younger and it’s usually with their families. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people. I can say, that I am fortunate enough to even have had the experience at all, but a part of me wishes I was able to go when I was younger with my family, like most people. You guys are probably wondering what I’m talking about…right? Two words. DisneyLand.

Now, most of you may be saying to yourselves, “Isn’t she Twenty-Three years old?” yes, I am. I am indeed Twenty-Three and a hopeless romantic who still enjoys Disney for what it is. I was never able to experience this with my parents like so many children have. One thing I always told myself I would do before I had children of my own, was to go to Disney. Now although I don’t plan on having children any time soon, I wanted to take the opportunity to experience the joy that so many people my age have already experienced.

It was everything I imagined and more. Magical. Refreshing. Inspiring. I just keep thinking, if this is what DisneyLand is like then I can only imagine what DisneyWorld will be like (I do plan on going to Disney World sometime in the near future).

Disney to me is more than just Mickey and Minnie. It is more. So much more. Let me first start off by saying that the simple fact that Walt Disney himself was able to create this whole world of magic, as he would like to call it, is just crazy to me. How can someone’s imagination run so free and so wild? Besides that, I have always been a hopeless romantic and true believer of true love and happy endings. I truly believe that everyone can have it all, just like the Disney Princesses. We can all have our own happy endings as long as we believe. Everyone is meant to have a happy ending, but it all come downs to knowing what truly makes you happy and what you consider to be your happy ending.

The outfit.

Haha. I can honestly say this outfit was not thought about before actually wearing it. I did not mean to wear a  shirt that had a mouth with its tongue sticking out on it, to Disney. Going back and looking at the pictures I thought it was hilarious that in some pictures it looked like my shirt was licking the Disney characters. Other than that. I loved this outfit. It was so comfortable and free, perfect for the weather too. Throughout the day I had to put on a cardigan because it got chilly after the sun went down.

After Disney, we decided to head to downtown Long Beach. We had been staying in that area but only got to explore a little on our first day there. We sat by the pier and just enjoyed the view. Like everywhere and everything in California, it was beautiful and breathtaking.

California OOTD – Day 2 ♥

I know that it’s been almost two weeks since my California trip, so you guys are probably not interested in hearing about what I did anymore but I miss it so much that I figured I might as well finish off my OOTD posts from this trip. I’m so sorry to drag it out this long but I promise there are only two more days left of OOTD’s from this trip!

For the second day in California we decided to explore the beaches! One thing that we said before coming here was that if we ever decided to move to California, it would be near a beach. I mean let’s be real, A) who wouldn’t want to live by the beach and B) why move from NY to CA just to live in a crowded city, again? (not that I live in NYC where it’s super crowded or anything, but the suburbs still isn’t as great as the beach)

The first beach we stopped at was in Malibu, CA. It was called El Matador Beach and was rated the #1 tourist attraction in Malibu on Trip Advisor. You guys, when I tell you the scenery was straight out of a television/movie screen I am not lying. It was so beautiful, words cannot even describe it. The pictures don’t even do it justice! We actually ran into a few people that were shooting a music video and the director took a photo of us. That was a pretty cool experience.

I originally had white shorts on, a Navy tank top and my kimono overtop but the weather was a little too chilly so I changed into this outfit in the car. I just kept my kimono on because I loved it so much. I thought this was the perfect beach outfit and I felt so great in it while in on the beach.

The beach means so much to me. It’s my peace. My serenity. I go to the beach as much as possible in the summer because it’s the one thing that can make all worries and problems go away. Just sitting there with the sand in between my toes, staring out into the sea is an unexplainable feeling for me. Whenever I stare out into the sea, all I can think of is all the possibilities in life. Once upon a time, people believed that the world was flat and that the ocean stopped at some point, but they were wrong. The ocean continues just like life continues. You can go through tough times but life will continue and you have to see the beauty in it, just like the ocean.

Anyway, Sorry. I get so emotional when I think of the beach. It just seriously is my safe haven. I feel 100% comfortable, calm, relaxed, and at peace when I’m at the beach. (except when there are Seagulls trying to befriend me, I am terrified of birds. Don’t judge me!)

After we took in the beautiful scenery in Malibu, we got a little hungry. We decided to stop at a little bar and grill called Barefoot. Such beautiful scenery. We were sitting next to a window and when you looked out it seemed as if we were surrounded by the ocean! I even got to see dolphins jumping around. We both ended up having taco’s, I had chicken and he had fish. So delicious, I deff.  recommend this place to anyone who is visiting the Malibu area.

After our delicious healthy snack, we decided to head to our second beach location. I ended up buying a hoodie there because the wind was a little crazy and it was making things a little chilly.

The second beach we went to was the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, CA. We walked the boardwalk and just took it all in. After the boardwalk we went down to the beach area and just pretty much people watched. People watching can be a little creepy, I know, but it’s so fun at the same time. Have you ever just sat there for a second and thought to yourself, what could these people be going through? I mean think about it. Everyone around you has their own life, their own problems, and their own triumphs. You’re just one person in a world of a billion or more people. It’s pretty crazy to think about.

After people watching, we decided to have some fun and play on the swings. The cool thing about the Santa Monica Pier is that it had an area where people went to exercise. We literally saw people doing yoga, pull ups, push ups, running, roller skating, biking, any type of exercise. You name it, they were doing it.

After our beach expeditions we decided to head back to Long Beach and grab some In N Out Burger. You guys, when I tell you we were obsessed with this place, you have no idea. I think I miss that the most out of California! (besides the weather, people, scenery, and the state itself haha)

California OOTD – Day 1 Pt.2 ♥

Our first day in California was a busy day! in my last post I told you guys what we did earlier in the day. After our stroll through the beaches of Long Beach, we met up with my boyfriend’s close friend. All three of us headed to Los Angeles to see the walk of fame and all of the great touristy attractions. Unfortunately for us, the Chinese theatre was closed so we weren’t able to see that or anything inside of it, but it was cool seeing the walk of fame and the Hollywood sign!

IMG_0065

At night it tends to get a little chilly in California, so I made sure to change into pants and a long sleeved blouse. It was such a comfortable outfit and it kept me warm through the night. It was also dressy enough for what we had planned later in the night.

After having a Touristy afternoon, we went to Lisa Vanderpump’s ( From the real housewives of Beverly Hills) restaurant, SUR. Unfortunately, I was unable to take pictures while inside but let me reassure you, it is worth the hype. The food was delicious and priced well. The atmosphere gave you the feeling of a lounge but still kept it classy. It was truly a great experience and I will be returning when I am back in California!

California OOTD – Day 1 Pt. 1 ♥

One of my many dreams growing up has always been to visit California & eventually live there. I was finally able to make that happen last week! It was the most amazing trip I have taken in a while but one week was just not enough time. We (my boyfriend & I) stayed from Monday -Sat, so not really a full week (more like 4 days since we got in late and left early) But we got so much done! I decided to take advantage of the amazing weather and backgrounds to take OOTD pictures for you guys! The weather there was in the 60’s/70s but at night it got really chilly (and if you know me, I’m always cold!)  which is why this post will contain two parts. I actually changed my outfit at night so that will be in my next OOTD post.

This first Outfit I wore on Tuesday, which was the first day we actually got to explore beautiful California. We were staying in Long Beach, so we decided to explore this area first. We ended up driving to a nearby beach which was a little deserted but beautiful nonetheless.

IMG_0063

I decided to wear my Maxi dress because it was comfortable enough to walk around and stroll through the beach with, but also it covered my legs so that I wouldn’t freeze to death. okay, yes I’m exaggerating just a little bit, it wasn’t that cold, but being near the water deff. makes things a little more windy and chilly so this outfit was perfect.

IMG_0066

Although you can’t see it in these pictures, for makeup, I wanted to go with a bold look because my outfit was so simple. Also, I haven’t been wearing much makeup lately because of work so it was fun playing with colors! We all know my favorite lipstick of all time is this purple one from Revlon so it was a must for the first day in my dream state.
