Too Faced Melted Longwear Lipstick | Review ♥

Lipsticks…Again. Like I’ve mentioned a thousand times before, I am a lipstick hoarder. I’ve completely come to terms with it and I just can’t help it. To feed my fun little addiction I decided to try these new Too Faced Melted Lipsticks out! I’ve had some of them for a while but I wanted to really make sure I used them enough to give a good review.

So far I’ve collected six out of the ten lipsticks. I have the colors Melted Nude, Melted Coral, Melted Peony, Melted Fig, Melted Fuchsia, and Melted Berry. The Melted Peony is a little baby version because it was given to me as a gift for purchasing a certain amount of Too Faced cosmetics at Ulta.

Melted Lippies

Price: $21.00

Where Can You Purchase? Ulta, Sephora, Too Faced.com

Too Faced Claims: “Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.” – TooFaced.com

Packaging: I’m not really a huge fan of lipsticks in little squeeze tubes. It reminds me of those oily lip glosses from lip smackers that I would use when I was like five. As an adult I think I have the capability of using a wand and applying it on my own. I get that it’s meant to save time but I feel like you don’t have control over how much product you’re applying or squeezing out for that matter. Besides the squeeze tube part,  I do like their precision tip applicator at the end of the squeeze tube. It sort of feels like the higher end lip gloss tips and I like that it’s soft and applies the lipstick perfect without having to use a lip liner.

Consistency: This product is meant to be creamy and it is. The whole concept is that it’s a melted lipstick, which is really what it looks like.

Application: It’s super easy to apply, no lip liner needed. The darker colors do feather so you may want to use lip liner just for that purpose but it’s not necessary for staying within the lip line.

Finish/Lasting Power: The overall finish is a shiny matte if that makes any sense. It does have a tiny bit of a sheen to it but Too Faced claims to have high shine gloss which I wouldn’t agree with. When I think of high shine gloss I think of extremely glossy lips and that’s not what I get out of these, which for me is perfectly fine. As for the lasting power, they definitely do last a long time. Too Faced doesn’t specify how long they can last but I’ve gotten a good 4-5 hours out of them. I do believe the lighter colors last more than the darker ones, but the darker ones end up turning into more of a stain.

Overall Thoughts: Overall, these are some of my go-to products for on the go. It’s so easy to apply and touch up. They can be drying especially on my lips since I already have over dried lips. If you apply Chapstick beforehand you should be perfectly fine! I recommend these, especially the fun colors!

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation : Review ♥

When I think of Chanel the first thing that comes to mind is Glamour, Chic, Classic. I’ve heard so many great things about Chanel and their cosmetics line but the price point was a little scary for me. Finally, I decided to treat myself for my birthday and splurged on this foundation. I was also gifted a Chanel lipstick and lip liner! I felt like such a princess and couldn’t wait to go home and try it. I was originally going to film a first impressions video for it but I just couldn’t wait to use it.

After a few uses, I decided I had finally come to a conclusion about this foundation. Simply put – Amazing!

Chanel

Price: $57.00

Where Can You Purchase? Chanel.com, Nordstrom, Macy’s, & any other Chanel Counters.

Chanel Claims: “Effortless to apply, with seamless blendability for a naturally flawless effect, this breakthrough foundation is the ideal all-day, everyday formula – available in a diverse range of 20 shades.” – Chanel.com

Packaging: The bottle is so luxurious I absolutely love it. I keep it on the top of my vanity just because it looks so glamorous. It is packaged in a thick glass bottle and the best part – it has a pump! Foundations with pumps are my best friends so I’m super happy this one comes with one!

Consistency: Very Creamy but feels super light on the skin. I use a Beauty Blender to apply and it literally melts into my skin which is amazing. It does have a scent to it so if you are sensitive to that this may not be the foundation for you. The scent is very strong almost like perfume.

Coverage: this is more of a medium- full coverage foundation. I definitely think it can become cakey if not applied properly or if adding too much. Like mentioned before, I like to use my Beauty Blender with this foundation because I believe it helps the foundation spread evenly.

Finish: This foundation is definitely a matte finish, so if you have dry skin this may not be your favorite. I usually wear this for nighttime use since its full coverage and matte. I like to use it when I’m doing intense makeup looks. Definitely not good if you like a minimal natural finish.

Overall: I am obsessed with this foundation. I truly believe it lasts all day long and does not move at all. It gives flawless coverage just like Chanel claims. The only downfall is that it does have SPF in it and although it’s just a little bit it definitely gives a small white cast in photos. Also, The color range is more geared towards lighter skin tones so it was quite difficult to find the perfect match for me (I bought mine in the color 64 Beige Ambre). Not sure if girls with darker skin than me will be able to find the perfect match.

Lips of The Moment – Shades of Orange ♥

Although Summer is pretty much over and everyone is prepping for vampy lips and dark eyeshadow, I’m still stuck on my bright lipsticks. Orange is a color that I truly believe can be transitioned from Spring/Summer to Fall. Winter not so much. Since the days in New York are still a little warm I decided to show you guys my favorite Orange lippies! You still have time to rock this shade so feel free to make those lips stand out!

Lipsticks

Orange isn’t a color for everyone. It sort of falls into that drastic color box with purples, blacks, blue’s , and pretty much every other “different” lipstick color. I love to have fun with my lips so I decided to include different shades and pigmentations so that there’s something for everyone!

lips 1-91. Maybelline ColorSensational VividsElectric Orange : Definitely one of the truer more pigmented Oranges. This formula is amazing. Super creamy and glides right on. You do have to reapply throughout the day, but it does not dry out your lips.

2. NYX Butter LipsticksHot Tamale: Probably one of the truest Orange lipsticks you’ll ever find. Looks like an Orange Crayola straight out of the crayon box. Easy formula, Glides right on. Doesn’t stain the lips and is moisturizing.

3. YSL Rouge Pur Couture13: Super pigmented and moisturizing. Love the way it feels on my lips. Also very true Orange. You have to reapply with this one as well. Only thing I don’t like is this lipstick tends to feather so make sure you wear a lip liner with it.

4. Maybelline ColorSensational VividsVibrant Mandarin: This lipstick is more of a Reddish Orange. If you don’t really like stepping out of the box when it comes to lipstick colors but you want to stay on trend, this is probably one of the best fits for you. It definitely looks more Red than Orange but is clearly still Orange.

5. Revlon ColorBurst Matte BalmAudacious: First of all, let’s talk about my love for this product in general. It’s matte and the formulation is amazing! I also own the purple one and I love it. Although it’s matte, it feels amazing on the lips – not drying at all. The color isn’t as pigmented as I would love for it to be but it’s a very wearable Orange. Great for daytime!

6.  Too Faced Melted LipsticksMelted Coral: This is another matte lippie which is perfect for those of you who are not into the whole glossy lips thing. I have really dry lips 90% of my lifetime so for me, this lipstick is great when I pair it with a lipgloss, if not it’s not really my favorite. The color is very toned down so you can definitely get away with it during the day.

7. Wet ‘n Wild Megalast LipsticksPurty Persimmon – Umm, let’s talk about the price point for such an amazing product! I’m pretty sure I only paid $2 for this at the drugstore and sometimes they’re buy one get one 1/2 off. How amazing is that!? This is probably one of my most worn lipsticks because it lasts all day! The only two downfalls is that it is super drying on the lips and it also stains them. Other than that I totally recommend this lipstick, especially for the price point!

8. NYX Butter GlossCherry Cheesecake: I mean who doesn’t love NYX’ lip butter glosses? They’re a must have in anyone’s makeup collection! This is the perfect orange to wear either by itself or over a lipstick. It’s pigmented enough to wear alone but also light enough to wear on top of other Orange lipsticks.

9. Revlon Colorstay Moisture StainMiami Fever: This is a new product to me but so far I love the way it feels on my lips. The pigmentation is okay… I feel like it goes on very streaky but I love that it’s a bright Reddish Orange so it’s very wearable and can be daytime and night time appropriate.

So those are all of my favorite Orange lipsticks of the moment. I had a mixture of high end and drugstore which is amazing! I hope you guys found this post helpful when trying to choose an Orange lipstick. If you’ve tried any of these or have any other recommendations please leave them below.. We all know I love to try new products!
